Two bodies retrieved from Gordonbrook Dam in Queensland’s South Burnett region
Fresh details have emerged about the people found deceased in a Queensland dam.
Police investigating the discovery of a man and a woman in Gordonbrook Dam in Queensland’s South Burnett region have made an appeal for information.
A kayaker raised the alarm at about 3.30pm on Saturday after seeing the couple’s bodies floating around five metres from the shore of the dam, which lies about 235km northwest of Brisbane.
The bodies were reportedly badly decomposed and tied together, The Courier-Mail reports.
A crime scene has been declared and emergency services have retrieved the bodies.
While their identities are yet to be confirmed, the bodies are believed to be those of a local man aged in his 50s and a local woman aged in her late 40s.
Police are now seeking public assistance to piece together the pair’s final movements.
It’s believed their white 2004 Holden Commodore station wagon has been parked in the picnic area of Gordonbrook Dam since February 22.
Anyone who has seen the vehicle or has any further information is urged to contact police.
